I'm getting another round trip fare! Or at least I'm going to apply. We'll see if the MBTA agrees. I was at Norwood Central this morning in time for the 708 (scheduled for NC at 7:30 and BB at 7:54). We were actually in BB at 8:26, so by my reckoning that's over 30 minutes late, which, according to the On Time Service Guarantee, qualifies. So pay up, MBTA!
Of course, I'm not sure what to do with the round-trip fares (this'll be my third) since I'm a monthly pass guy. Maybe my kids can use them to play train. We'll set up some chairs in the living room and just sit there and it'll be like the real thing. I'll get angrier and angrier and the kids will laugh and laugh. Maybe I'll give them a ton of money, too.

Whenever I've gotten an on-time guarantee, you can bring them along with the letter to North Station, South Station or Back Bay, and they'll give you cash for them.
djheini is right. Or you can save them for those times when you might not have had time to pick up a pass before the end of the month. They're good for six months.
Bring the tix, along with the letter right to your friendly service agent in any of the mentioned stations, and after a somewhat brief, testy exchange, and some snide remarks from the MBTA employees you will eventually get the cash for your tix.
Hey, it should keep you in coffee for a few days at least.
